This course offers essential problem-solving skills tailored for healthcare and professional settings, where effective solutions are crucial for patient safety, staff well-being, and organisational efficiency. Through a structured five-step method—defining and analysing the problem, proposing solutions, selecting the best option, implementing, and evaluating the outcome—learners will develop a systematic approach to resolve issues, ensuring sustainable improvements that align with organisational goals. Emphasising the importance of communication, the course addresses how gaps among stakeholders can lead to inefficiencies and risks. Practical case studies, such as managing patient care with real-time monitoring, will highlight strategies to overcome these challenges and enhance collaboration. The course also explores modern digital teamwork tools and methodologies, crucial in today’s transformed workspaces. Participants will learn to use cloud platforms for asynchronous collaboration, apply Design Thinking to tackle complex problems, and employ brainstorming techniques to foster creativity. In addition, participants will gain hands-on experience with stakeholder analysis, project scheduling, and tools like the PDCA cycle and the 5W and 2H method. Through frameworks like Hospital-Based Health Technology Assessment (HB-HTA) and tools such as Miro for visual collaboration, learners will acquire the skills needed for effective problem-solving and digital teamwork, making this course foundational for driving positive outcomes in professional environments.
